This flat section of the path explores a former industrial wasteland transformed into RSPB Newport National Nature Reserve. The reserve visitor centre makes for an ideal base to start from with a cafe and toilets (check ahead for opening times) and offers lots of opportunities for exploring further beyond the reserve. The Gwent Levels offers a backdrop to the small medieval village of Redwick along the banks of Severn Estuary.
